On Monday, October 28th, Kentucky held a lottery for cultivator and processor licenses, with 16 total licenses available for cultivators (10 for Tier I cultivators, four for Tier II cultivators, and two for Tier III cultivators) and 10 licenses available for processors.

The winners in the first Kentucky cannabis license lottery were as follows:

Cultivators

Tier I (up to 2,500 square feet of plant canopy)

  • L&O Legacies in Boyd County
  • Synapse Remedies LLC in Jefferson County
  • CW Bluegrass, LLC in Davis County

  • Armory Kentucky LLC in Estill County
  • JMOKY LLC in Warren County
  • Canopy Capital LLC in Grant County

Tier III (up to 25,000 square feet of plant canopy)

The Office of Medical Cannabis (OMC) previously issued safety compliance facility licenses to KCA Laboratories LLC, Carbon Labs LLC, and FB Thompson LLC. There is no cap on the number of testing facilities in Kentucky, and therefore a lottery was not necessary for this license category.

OMC has not yet announced a date for the dispensary lottery, as the office is continuing to work through the review of more than 4,000 dispensary license applications. During the livestream of the cultivator/processor lottery, Director Sam Flynn said an announcement would be made in the coming days.
